Rocketbook, if you’ve yet to hear about them, is an incredible company changing how we use notebooks. They offer several different types of Rocketbooks designed for specific purposes, including one designed especially for children to draw and doodle. These notebooks are reusable, allowing you to take handwritten notes in an environmentally-friendly manner.
Today, we’ll be reviewing all three sizes of the Rocketbook Everlast. These notebooks, when used with Frixion pens or markers, are reusable. You can easily wipe all the writing away with a damp microfiber cloth.
How the Everlast Works
The Everlast notebook, as we said, is reusable in the way of a damp microfiber cloth. Only the Frixion pen is erasable on the notebook, so it’s essential that you use that pen and that pen only.
Once you’re done writing, you can save your pages to your preferred cloud service, like Google Drive, Dropbox, or Evernote, using the QR code and symbols found at the bottom of each page (each symbol, when marked, will automatically upload the document to the folder you designated for that symbol) using the application available on both the Apple Store and the Google Play Store.
You can then wet a microfiber cloth and wipe away all traces that the notebook had ever been used at all. We recommend then taking a dry microfiber cloth, or just a dry corner of the one you used, to dry off the surface and remove any remaining ink.
Letter-Sized Everlast
The original Everlast notebook is standard paper size, 8-1/2 x 11, and has 32 pages
This notebook is a great option for students, teachers, writers, and anyone else that has to write or draw frequently. It costs around $34 and comes with a microfiber cloth and a 0.7-sized, black Frixion pen.
The letter-sized Rocketbook Everlast feels like writing on glossy paper. Sometimes it takes a bit to get used to the paper, the Frixion pens, and the way the pens write on the glossy paper.
Executive-Sized Everlast
Like the larger one, this notebook has dotted paper that comes with the QR code and symbols printed on it to use it with the app and your preferred cloud service. Its smaller size makes it more convenient to take with you without being so small that writing on it is difficult.
This Everlast, at least the one I ordered, comes with a 0.5-sized Frixion pen and a slightly smaller micro-fiber cloth. This notebook is 6 x 8.8 and has 36 pages in it. It costs around $32.
As mentioned with the letter-sized Everlast, it feels like writing on glossy pages and may take a little getting used to. As with all Everlast notebooks, this is designed to be used only with pens from the Frixion line.
I prefer this notebook for my traveling needs. As a writer, it comes in handy to have a purse-sized notebook that will easily fit in whatever bag I take without being cumbersome.
Everlast Mini
The Everlast Mini is the smallest notebook in the Everlast line. This notebook is 3.5 x 5.5 with 48 pages. It comes with a 0.5-sized Frixion Ball Clicker and a tiny microfiber cloth. This notebook is bound at the top, rather than on the side like the others.
This Everlast has a few unique features to it in addition to how its bound. Like the others, it has dot paper and a QR code, but it doesn’t have the icons to mark at the bottom to give you more writing space. As you can imagine, this also slightly changes the uploading process. Rather than marking the icon, you choose the folder through the app after scanning the sheet.
I originally thought the size of this Everlast would pose a problem, but I was pleasantly surprised it didn’t. This notebook is designed to be the same size as the Frixion pen, making it easy to carry the two together. This notebook is absolutely perfect for on-the-go. There’s a million uses for it.
About the Frixion Pens
The only pen that allows the Everlast to work as a reusable notebook is the Frixion pen from Pilot. This pen is readily available in most department stores (like Walmart and Target), office supply stores (like Office Depot and Staples), some convenient stores (like CVS or Walgreens), and a number of places online. It comes in a variety of styles:
- Ball Clicker (the one that comes with the Everlast)
- Color Sticks
- Ball (capped version of the Ball Clicker)
- Colors (markers)
- Fineliners (finer point)
- Light (highlighters)
- Ball LX
They come in various point sizes and colors.
I have personally used the Ball Click, Ball, and Color Sticks in 0.5 and 0.7 points. I’ve also used the Frixion Colors. I’ve found all of these to be of similar high quality but found the color sticks took longer to get started on the glossy paper of the Everlast.
My only preference with the Ball Click verses the Ball is that the Ball click is a larger pen than the Ball. It’s wider circumference is a bit uncomfortable in my hand and causes my fingers to tire and my hand to cramp sooner.
Overall, we highly recommend each of the notebooks in
